It was my friend's birthday so we took her out to Fraiche in West Vancouver. This a beautiful restaurant that sits high on the mountains of the North Shore with "to die for" views. First off it was a clear beautiful evening and the views were fabulous. The Lionsgate Bridge had this very cool fog just sitting along its base and her jewels of lights were all a glitter. Beautiful!!! Now it took a bit of convincing to get my friend to make the trek to the North Shore. Her favorite hangout is the Yew in the Four Seasons Vancouver and the only way we could convince her to branch out was to send a limo for her. The car dropped her off right at 7:00 and as she walked in the door and took in the view even she was taken aback. So far the 1st impression was good. We were given the best table in the room, center front right by the wall of windows. The waiter right away brought her, a perfectly made martini and two sips into it she got that nice rosy glow to her face. I knew from that point on the evening was going to be a success. The food was fabulous. Chef Dino came to the table explained the dishes and told us the story of the vineyard of the very special wine that we ordered and how he bought it at auction in Napa.
The food at Fraiche is fabulous, the service was attentive and we were made to feel very special. This is one of my favourite places and I was glad that I was able to share it with my friend.
