After 2 years sitting on the fence I finally have decided to have laser eye surgery. On recent trip to Calgary for a Family Wedding I lost my (very expensive, sigh) glasses and I am due to replace my contact lenses, so I thought it was time to get rid of both of them! I had my appointment last week and (yeah) I m a candidate for PRK. This is the one that does NOT create the cornea flap but does take longer to heal. The worst part is that I am not able to wear my contacts for the the two weeks prior to my surgery. Apparently contacts can change the shape of your eyes, so the two weeks is needed to allow for the eye shape to go back to "normal"
The have given me a pair of loaner glasses to wear, but they are so not me and I have been mostly walking around blind. I have chosen vanity over the ability to see, but what the heck it is only for two weeks.
I am nervous and excited. Only 7 more days, the countdown begins.
